Here's my Top(f) 10 list of Healthy Habits that you can start right now!
Each month via email, I will be expanding on one of these topics with the latest research and views on these topics.
The information that I'm passing on to you is intended to help you to improve the quality of your life, actively learn new techniques to feel better, move with ease and be happier :)
1. Eat whole foods
The food we eat should be as close to its original form of life as possible. ie plants, grains, hormone free meat, wild fish etc. The more processed the harder it is for your body to use it for energy and function.
2. Align your posture
Poor posture and wreak havoc on the joints of your body and can cause unnecessary pain and wear throughout.
3. Sit less
A study shows that over 6 hours of sitting per day can increase our death rate by 20% for men and 40% for women.
4. Drink more Water
Water is a part of every process in your body, so when you are dehydrated they all work less efficiently, and that includes your metabolism.
5. Have sufficient Energy
Energy is directly related to the quality of food you eat and your ability to digest it—the old saying of “you are what you eat” can be more accurately be said as “you are what you absorb”
6. Sleep well
The amount of hours you get are important but do you get to bed early enough? Also, what position you sleep in can affect how you feel in the morning.
7. Walk as often as possible
Humans are built to walk all day long, so park your car ‘further’ from where you are going and hoof it.
8. Stretch and roll out your body
You can stretch and massage yourself using foam rollers or tennis balls to keep those your muscles feeling and functioning better.
9. Find Quiet
Take the time to find stillness and quiet. Sitting in meditation or simply walking alone in the woods can do wonders for clarity of mind.
10. Get help.
Congratulations for seeking help with your health. I appreciate the effort it can take to take the first step towards optimal health... and you've done it!
